To be totally honest, I've never liked wedding videos. I find them to be way too long, shot poorly and possess questionable levels of taste. I especially dislike attending weddings where the videographer is up in your face the entire time while you're trying to dance or talk with friends and family. Putting those sentiments aside, I truly believe that there is another way. It is this belief that has transformed something that was initially a way for me to make some extra bucks in the summer into a full time passion. Fact: There is absolutely no reason why a wedding video cannot be a cinematic work of art. When I shoot I try to capture the essence of the day. I try to work smarter, not harder. It's about balance. The day must be captured, but not at the cost of ruining it or causing discomfort in the subjects/guests.
Why Music Videos? Easy. It's my background. My career began at MTV, right after college. I spent a few months there before moving on to work as an editor/shooter for the Grammy nominated NYC based company "Three on the Tree Productions." At 3tree I edited and shot videos for such great artists like Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Velvet Revolver and more. After one year at 3tree I began my own company called Electric Tweed Productions. (visit electrictweed.com) where I worked with such acts as Phoenix, Jon Spencer, Fanfarlo, Ida Maria, Travis and more. Below is an embedded video of non-wedding work as well as footage shot for other companies.
I inject the same amount of passion into my wedding videos as my music videos and other creative projects. Please feel free to call or email me if you would like to have a chat about your wedding.
